Here’s the Scoop from the Gabby Gourmet Restaurant Show on Saturday, July10, 2010.

We were at Walk-In Burger on 22nd and Sheridan---
Chip, Steve Miller and all sorts of fun people were guests.
We had Jeremy from the Burger event on August 17 in the Wynkoop Walk from 6-9—you vote for your favorite burger.
Keenie from My Mom’s Pies—the best!!!! She brought some of the baby pies-they are all outrageous
And Sean Moore-our cupcake guy from The Denver Cupcake Truck and Cake-crumbs truck—the same---and the cupcakes are to die for

They were all fabulous
And Mayor Bonnie McNulty was there too.
And guests at the restaurant asked to rave.
It is fabulous!!! The burgers, chicken sandwiches, and quinoa burgers-and Chicago Vienna kosher dogs---and sweet potato and regular fries-and beer and wine too.

The question of the day—how many pounds of raw potatoes do they use in a week—1,200.

And everything is fresh daily, made on premise.

It was to show off the city of Evergreen!!! And we did.

WE ARE INVITED BACK FOR ANOTHER GLORIOUS WEEKEND IN SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO AT THE FABULOUS ENCANTO RESORT. WE EACH HAVE OUR OWN CASITAS FOR TWO NIGHTS AND THEN BE PART OF THE AMAZING DINNER AND WINE PAIRINGS OF CHEF CHARLES DALE ON SATURDAY NIGHT. THIS WILL BE OUR THIRD ANNUAL TRIP TO THIS HEAVENLY SPOT. Dinner at Jax was the best. It is the best fish-and service, and wine, and food----
The wine list was great fun, and bread comes right to the table. Then we had Dungeness crab as an appetizer-and a divine Caesar salad too. We had the lobster blt sandwich with homemade chips and the steelhead trout for entrees. They were fabulous. So was the butterscotch pudding with cracker “jax”—and our server, Juliette was great-everyone there was. What a treat.

We went to the King Tutt exhibit—it is amazing and the way it is set up is amazing and fabulous. Then we had 4th and July Sunday brunch at Steuben’s—so did the rest of Denver. It was mobbed and wonderful---great service and super food and fun. We both ended up with the omelet special with pulled pork, cheese, green chilis and more.

I got carryout from Garbanzo’s—first the food is great-and I impressed everyone—I got the plates with everything on them so all could taste each thing-and they were thrilled-me too-got the potato chips extra-love them. And the service is incredible----order ready, correct as I wanted, and so nice. What a pleasure.

And we had a pie from My Mom’s Pies—another treat. It is amazing how one can be such a great cook without turning on the stove---or any other cooking appliance.

The Gabby dinner at Barolo Grill was==as expected—fabulous!!!!! The service is so outstanding-and the wines—5 of the best wines you have ever had from rose and chardonnay to barberesca, the most divine Barolo, and a fabulous dessert wine too. The food-amazing—we started with chicken fried like calamari on greens, then a divine cheese soufflé with honey, and next the best- homemade eggy noodles with divine wild mushrooms and parmesan and truffles. The entrees were a choice of salmon over panzanella with black bread or sliced steak on arugula. Both were perfect—so was the dessert of an Italian grape cake—not had one but very good—really good. And it was fabulous from beginning to end.

Satchel’s Market is just plain divine. We went with a group and adored it. There were some half price wines on special on Wednesday and they were great. The service is fun-the food divine---we had the breads and gravlox to die for and burrata and tomato salad-wow!!! Then the amazing entrees were the best roast chicken I have ever tasted-and soft shell crab, and the burger and fries, and the sea bass-all were perfect. The desserts were beignets, a chocolate tart-both outrageous until you taste the chocolate with chocolate chile syrup---it was a wow!!!

We got carryout from the Bagel Deli—so good!!!! We got tuna salad and turkey sandwiches, coleslaw, egg salad, and bagel too. It is all so very good.

Lunch at Maggiano’s was super. We had great service and super fun. We had the house salad, breads, lasagna, and salmon blt. All were great.

We had dinner at Cherry Creek Grill. It was mobbed of course, service excellent and food great. We had lovely wine and great martinis—I am told). Then we shared corn bread and had the trout, the bangers and mash with Brussels sprouts, and the macho salad for entrees-and we were all delighted. It is always busy.

We had out of town company and a family get together again and we had the carryout from Garbanzo again-it was great-and the people are wonderful to deal with-what a pleasure.

Trisha called about her meal at Yak and Yeti—it was fabulous and the menu for Monday—wow!!!

She also had an amazing dinner at the Community Table at Satchel’s/ and dinner at Fruition too.

Places opening or just opened in Edgewater include Providence, a bar-and of course Edgewater pizza. New ones are Walk In Burger, GB Fish and Chips and Sopapilla.

Jason had some questions about Vail and talked about a dinner coming up at Empire Diner in Louisville.

Claire is on her way to Walk-In—all things she has been looking for.

Randy called about great burgers here too.

Kathy asked about Perfect landing and White chocolate Grill—both are good.

Ron is beyond thrilled with Walk In—finally all he wants in a burger and fries.

We had several other calls
