We passed out Gigi Cupcakes to one and all-it opened today on 6th and Grant-across from Channel 7-congratulations-and they were great

Questions of the day—for Piatti-the great Italian restaurant—how many cupcakes did they sell in the first hour—200

We went to dinner at Root Down—omgosh—fabulous, mobbed, great service, the best wine and food—always. We went with new people who were totally wowed!!!! We had the gazpacho and the carrot soup—then we had the new carrot kumquat salad with Indian spiced yogurt-to die for plus, the beet salad and the samosas. Then we had rack of lamb, beef, lamb ravioli, and scallops===and the most amazing crème brulee, and coffee brownie gelato for dessert-with divine wines and great coffee too. What a great place and super treat.

Strings for breakfast was great!!!! And the patio is open when weather permits. We had the great omelets and smoked salmon and eggs-and a special of a grilled chili pepper with green chili and cheese-and top it with a sunny side up egg.

Dinner at Chopsticks was fabulous!!! And THE DINNER ANNOUNCED WILL BE INCREDIBLE. We sampled—well we ate—some of the dishes—but not all of what will be served. We started with the cabbage salad and salt and pepper squid—both were great—then came the best 3 sauce chicken (my favorite dish), the Peking duck that was outrageous with the best buns ever, the short ribs, and moo shoo chicken. We had both brown and white rice to go with all. And the fortune was that we get to come back. We also tried the saketina—and it was super!!!!!

We went to Capital Grille for a luncheon and had a lovely time. The valets are so nice-lunch too—and service excellent. We had the sesame salmon salad, the chop salad with shrimp, the lobster-crab cake, and the sourdough club. All were excellent and we had a great time.

We went to Yak and Yeti Restaurant and Brewpub in Arvada and it was great. They do brew the beer downstairs and happily serve a sampling of the 7 beers—the chai beer was super. But the food-it is fabulous!!!! Indian, Nepal, and Tibet bring what seems like the Indian food we know but the spices and flavors are lighter, spicy (not too) and fantastic. We had onion bhaji and a sampler appetizer platter, popadums, and all sorts of good ies to start. Then we had the best tandoori chicken, chicken tiki masala, sag paneer, lamb kabobs, lamb korma, divine potato curry, lentil soup, naan—there were lots of us and we did not make a dent. Then we had galub jamon, rice pudding and carrot pudding-I watched that round-and of course, chai tea, and beer!!! What fun and great food.

The Gabby Dinner at BOA was great fun---in time for Cinco de Mayo, it was great. We started with great margaritas and then super wines and beer---chips, dip, and great guacamole can first. Then mini taco salads that were terrific and so pretty to see too were the next course. We then had a choice-sopapillas (divine), great tacos, or enchiladas with super sides were our choices for entrees. And then sopapilla fries in honey and sugar were the terrific dessert.

We did Mexican for Cinco de Mayo on TV on Wed. on Channel 7 on the 11am news—it was great fun-Bobby Sandavol-my divine floor director did the choosing-and did well-Los Arcos, Garcia’s, Rosa Linda, Benny’s and Blue Bonnet.

Dinner at Strings was great—the wines were super and the warm rolls started the fun. Then we had salads from the Farmer’s Market-lettuces, cheese, honey combs, strawberries-divine. Entrees were lamb, chicken, and steak with all the accompaniments. Then we had a great dessert of chocolate and gelato. It was great.

We went to TAG on Larimer and it was incredible. The place was mobbed and lots of fun-the food divine and service great. We had grilled bread and popovers with prosciutto fig jam. Then we had the onion soup dumplings and the best blt sliders (yeah), and seafood potstickers. Then we shared the chicken and the halibut—all were wonderful-and then we ended with chocolate cake with mango gelato and churros. The evening was super.

We went to Strings for lunch- I was lucky enough to go with Gary Corbett-the GREAT AUCTIONEER --from Give Paws. We had a great lunch—the tuna tartar, and the liver for him, and a great omelet for me. Service was great and so was the place.

Big Game is the new sports bar downtown with huge TVs and fun-it replaced Il Fornaio—it is big, very well done, and the food ranges from burgers, fries and chips to high priced steaks and chops—with lots in between. We had fried chicken, rotisserie chicken sandwich and a burger—and matzo ball soup and an artichoke-and banana cream pie---we had a great server-Samantha.

We had calls about Estes Park
Here are the suggestions

Twin Owl Steak
Italian Mama Roses
Mary’s Lake Lodge
The second caller told us about the great lodge, the tavern, and the upscale dining too.
Bold Tate Inn-with the room with all the keys
Basilico—a real Italian favorite-very popular-

Kathy called about the Gabby dinner at BOA, a fabulous dinner at TAG, and a terrific afternoon of tea and sandwiches at Capital Tea on S. Broadway.

Regina went to Elway’s Cherry Creek and took little kids-they were thrilled-they kids had great food, were treated fabulously-the adults adored the food and the reasonably priced wine-even had a second bottle!!! Good for Elway’s-they are wonderful to kids.

There were several calls on the spices-Vanilla, curry, seasoning for salads, and many more---great place to go for all-any size portion you want too.

Pat went to Star Kitchen, Mississippi and Federal for the best dim sum since New York-it is divine.

Marcia had questions about Ggi cupcakes—and we discovered they have great tea too.

Anne adored Colt & Gray—and they have a new menu.

Diane went to Assignments and had a great time and excellent food.

We did a cookbook interview and totally ran out of time.

Thanks for listening

Have a wonderful Mother’s Day to all.
Thanks again
Gabby
