Join Chef Michael Long as he
teams up with Michael Ditch of
Republic National and brings a
night of fabulous food with
courses matched with champagne.
Each course will show the
differences of the champagnes
with the food. The price of this
incredible night is $50
inclusive of tax, tip and wine.
We went to Annie’s Café for
dinner. It was great, and so
reasonable too. We had the
turkey dinner special complete
with stuffing and cranberries,
the tuna melt with the homemade
chips, and the turkey club with
sweet potato fries. And we could
not leave without blueberry pie
ala mode.
We went to Yia Yia’s and it was
great. The service and staff are
incredible. The new wine list is
fabulous-the wine list is great
by bottle and glass and prices
right too. And they have an 8oz
pour so one glass goes a long
way. And they bring the bottle
to the table. The food was great
too. We had the foccacia and
babaganush dip to start. Then we
had the pizzetta, the Caesar and
the fabulous new brushcetta to
start. Then we had the short rib
ravioli-worth the trip!!!
Entrees were the pork chop, the
half chicken; the salmon and the
striped bass-all were super.
Dessert was a goat cheese cheese
cake. It is a super choice.
We went to Steuben’s for a lunch
meeting for Give Paws and it—and
the meeting ---was great. We had
the lobster roll-several—and the
special of a steak sandwich with
2 fried eggs and the tuna
nicoise salad.
The Gabby dinner at Prime
Steakhouse was beyond
incredible. It was so perfect
and so fabulous-from the valet
on. The service was just
unbelievable-it was amazing-and
the wines-wow!!! Never better
and matched with each course.
And then the food—the best ever.
We started with each of us
getting a jumbo shrimp, crab
claw and oyster with great
sauce-and super breads. Then we
had the spinach, cheese, apple
salad. Next course was a divine
salmon with amazing rice. The
entrée was a prime bone in strip
with green chili mac and cheese.
And a heavenly bananas foster
bread pudding with rum raisin
ice cream ended this beyond
incredible feast.
TV on Wednesday was great on
Channel 7 on the 11am news. We
did ethnic-and wow!!!
Wild Basil, India’s Pearl,
Chopsticks, Da Lat, and Taki
Sushi—what great places. Go to
TV appearances for more.
We went over to Deluxe for
dinner and it was great. We had
the pizza bread (complimentary
to all), and then the smoked
trout salad with divine slaw and
the chicken dumplings for
starters. Several had the turkey
Bolognese which was great and
the signature half chicken with
goat cheese mashed potatoes. All
were delicious and so
good-service great. Dylan is
opening Deluxe Burger on E.
Colfax and Grape around
Valentine’s Day.
And the long awaited H Burger
will open on the 10th in the
Sugar Building. It will be great
too.
Both menus are terrific-can
hardly wait.
This week on TV we are doing
Sweets for the Sweet for
Valentine’s Day and think you
will love it!!!! Tune in to the
11am news on Channel 7 on
Wednesday and see it all-and
there will still be time to get
some great goodies for the big
day.
There was a media dinner at
Panzano to show off the new look
and new menu. The place is
gorgeous with lots of gray with
red accents. The new look is
modern, simple and goes with the
great food. Lots of tables and a
focus on community tables and
the second bar/open kitchen with
seating now as well. We had
great appetizers and the best
tomato soup with a crispy potato
cracker-divine. The great breads
and dips are still offered. Then
we all shared barrata with
cranberry and doughnuts, a
fabulous salumi platter, and
then beef heart with risotto.
The grilled Caesar was
incredible which was next. Then
we had our choice of steak with
pasta, scallops with risotto,
lamb with gnocchi, or vegetarian
tagliatelle. All were great. The
dessert was lavender filled
chocolate ganache. We had
wonderful wines and coffees as
well.
We went to Strings with the
family to try the new menu—it is
great!!! Presentation, flavors,
and variety are super. We had
the new chicken liver pate,
gnocchi and lamb, mizuna salad,
and nicoise salad for starters.
Then we had the mini burgers and
noel mcnuggets from the bar
menu, and then the liver, the
cod, the tortellini with lamb
and mushrooms, the linguini with
pancetta and fried egg, the
chicken and all were fabulous.
Desserts were a lemon tart,
cookies, and chocolate tasting.
Service, wines, and all were
wonderful as well. Get on over
and try it.
Both Steve’s and Opus are open
every day—very different and
great.
One I s super hot dogs—and
more-burgers, egg sandwiches and
on and on-shakes, yum
And Opus-weekend brunch-l lunch,
and fabulous dinners. The prices
have been lowered as well. And
5280 weeks are on their agenda
too.
Brooke of Big Pappa Bar & Grill
called-Belleview and
Federal-they will be open on
Super Bowl-720-363-9776—and
deliver!!!
Kathy went to annies and loved
it. She takes her kids to
Steve’s Snappin dogs—and goes
herself. She loved the gabby
dinner at Prime steakhouse. And
had a great meal at Yia Yia’s—where
there is a super kiddie menu.
Matty called about Vesta’s
mustache contest tonight!!!
Great fun and prizes.
Frank wanted to know about Café
Berlin and German restaurants-we
talked about Café Budapest and
Golden Europe as well.
Ann loves Andrea’s Swiss for
lunch.
Dawn called and is doing the
catering for DCPA and went to
Kevin Taylor’s-it was fabulous.
She went to Lola and loved it-Osteria
Marco-another super winner and
had a burger at Capital Grille.
We talked about SALT in
Boulder-she adores it-so do we.
And Larkburger too for burgers.
H Burger, Deluxe Burger, Walk In
Burger are all opening. We will
show them as soon as they open
on TV.
Dave thought the dinner at Prime
Steakhouse the best ever. They
are going for the pre-theater
meal this weekend-leave your car
there!!! And they had a $15
burger at Morton’s last night in
the bar and it was great.
Robert wanted to know more about
Steve’s.
Linda had an excellent meal at
Thai Bistro.
It was a super fun show-thanks
for calling. We will put up the
winners of the Super Bowl as
soon as it is over.
Gabby
See you next week at Savory
Spice on 15th and Platte.
