The restaurant has been redone, the students at the Art Institute Culinary School are fabulous and the food and service is outstanding. We are now inviting you to join us at Assignments for a fabulous night of food and wine. Chef is preparing a four course dinner with wine pairings for each course and it is a real treat. And you can watch the chefs at work in the open kitchen. The price including tax, tip and wine is $38. Seating is limited so reserve early.

We were at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs for the Escoffier weekend. It benefits the education fund for the Restaurant Association.

Dinner at Penrose Room and Brunch on Sunday are other events.

We went to Shells and Sauce for dinner and it was beyond packed, and the food and service shine as always. This spot has really come into its own and for good reason. We have been fans always and it is great. We had the divine home baked bread and dip. Then we had the Caesar salad and minestrone soup. Entrees were chicken parmesan, vongole-linguini with clams and white oil sauce, and divine grilled balsamic salmon. We passed dessert cuz we were so full.

We went to Wild Basil for dinner and it was wonderful. They now have sushi and we had some sushi for appetizers along with lettuce wraps with chicken. Then we had the lemongrass chicken, the black bean fish, and the peking duck. And for dessert we had American layer cake!!

We went to the new Restaurant Home in the Streets of Southglenn and it is a real treat. Mark Tarbell is doing a great one there. The place is beautiful, service amazing, and food great. We had lots!!!! We started with lobster Carpaccio soup, and then lobster cakes, a taste of salmon with citrus glaze and the steak. Then we had mac and cheese-great-cornbread, and Brussels sprouts. Those were the sides that went with incredible fried chicken, salmon, sushi grade tuna with sticky rice and veggies, and pork chop—really 2 huge ones with applesauce. All were fabulous. Then the feast ended with lemon meringue tart. It was great!!!

We went to the Eggshell of Cherry Creek for lunch-or breakfast and it was fun. We had the omelet from the breakfast side and one of the new Panini from the lunch side. It is bright, cheery, affordable, and good. It’s a nice choice in Cherry Creek.

We went to the new Yanni’s in Landmark. The place looks great-casual, friendly and fun. And the same good food is there-and Yanni too with his ouzo!!! We had the great bread, the eggplant dish that is so good and saganaki. Then we had spanakopita, moussaka, lamb souvlaki, Greek salad and seafood stew. Dessert was a great chocolate mousse cake---and Greek yogurt with honey and walnuts.

TV on Channel 7 on Wed. on the 11am news was great fun as we showed restaurants that have been around over 50 years!!! Go to TV appearances and see the video. We featured 20th St. Café, Buckhorn Exchange, Bastien’s, the Fort, and Columbine Steakhouse.

We went to Papou’s Pizzeria and Italian Eatery for dinner. They were one of the entries in the pizza contest and I remembered some great reviews from a while ago. And they were so right!!! The place is great-nothing fancy but great food---we had warm bread, a great Greek salad, and the best eggplant rolletino ever. It is worth the trip. And then we had super lasagna-either veggie or meat-a great choice and the incredible pizza too. They are huge and come with any toppings, great crust, not thick or thin—the charming owner, Luke, calls it Connecticut style-the huge round pizzas are cut into squares—yummy. And then we had baklava for dessert-and it is great too. There is wine and beer too if you like. Prices are very affordable. And they deliver.

We went to Steuben’s for lunch and had a ball—the staff was dressed in pajamas—Mayor’s day for pajamas for the homeless!!!! We had the half chicken with a substitute of healthy veggies and I had the real turkey sandwich special of the day with turkey on foccacia bread —really great.

We went to Barolo Grill for dinner-Heavenly certainly describes this one. The valet is there to start to make your evening perfect-the hostesses as well. The service is perfect. The wines are fabulous and the food is beyond incredible. We had the favorite rolls, then appetizers: the best pork belly with pears, salad of salmon and fingerling potatoes, crepes with mushrooms, and tuna carpaccio with foie gras. Entrees were the new lamb neck osso bucco-divine, the amazing fluke fish with chutney and potato cake and tagliatelle with mushrooms. Desserts are decadent and as divine as everything else. They were a very light divine tiramisu like dessert, the chocolate soup with bananas, gelato, and rice crispy honey squares, and a pistachio olive oil cake with crème anglaise. It was the best
