This week's PLAYBACK
Part 1:

Part 2:

Here’s the Scoop from the Gabby Gourmet Restaurant Show on Saturday, November 14, 2009.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THE GABBY GOURMET RESTAURANT GUIDE 2010 ON THE BEST SELLER LIST. Don’t forget it for all your gifts, occasions—or just because.

We were at
Edible Arrangements on 14241 W. Colfax Ave. in Lakewood.
These are the best gifts and Betsy Sherman and Joe and Tammy from the Colorado Mills location were there with us.
Noel Cunningham of Strings was my guest as well.
Strings is doing a fabulous happy hour with super small bites and drink specials—the Sunday brunch is the best-Sunday night is $52.80 for 2 for a 4 course dinner-and the bracelets are here for sale for Ethiopia, and Step by Step—a walk for Ethiopia happens this week—go to cunninghamfoundation.org for details.

We had great fun talking about the arrangements and how great they are for gifts for any occasion-or none!!!! And fans came in and we got to give away boxes of chocolate covered fruit. The chocolate covered apples are divine.

The question of the day—how many strawberries did all the Edible Arrangement stores use—in the Denver area—on Valentine’s Days 2009---9,400 lbs.
Wow!!!
And if you call or go into any of the stores before Dec 1 and place an order, and say Gabby-they will give you a 10 percent discount on your order. These are fantastic—the stores are –Arvada, Aurora, Centennial, Denver on S. Colorado and Mexico and the 16th St. Mall, Lakewood, Ft. Collins, Littleton, Parker and Westminster.
And go to ediblearrangements.com to see more

Don’t forget-and a great way to buy a gift too!!!! Avi is there and Jake is great-and have him coat your phone to take away scratches forever!!!! It is not far from Saks—and such fun to shop here.

We went to Colt & Gray and it continues to rock-and be incredible. We were with new guests who adored it too—and they are real foodies. Start with great wine, and super service with Brie-a real doll!!! Then add fabulous food in super surroundings and you are there. We had the warm rolls, and a fabulous charcuterie platter of meats, cheeses and accompaniments to start. Then some of us had the incredible turkey burger with cheese and goodies on fabulous bread and we all chose the new side of baked sweet potatoes—worth the trip!!!! Then others had the sea bass-another winner—and the lamb shank was awesome. Desserts were the sticky toffee pudding and the apple crisp—both a la mode. It was great- and mobbed.

The building where we live had a party and got food from Famous Dave’s and it was a huge hit with all-it was great and everyone enjoyed the night.

We had lunch at Annie’s Café on the way home from the hospital where we were. We had omelets, and tuna melts and they were delicious-and the homemade potato chips are the best.

We went to Cherry Creek Grill-figured no line cuz of games-and we walked right in. the service was excellent and they were very nice. We had the cornbread and then shared the Caesar salad. The chicken with risotto, trout with salad and beef ribs with coleslaw were all great with generous portions. It is not inexpensive but very good.

Dinner at Venice was incredible. We were celebrating a birthday and all were thrilled. First, the place is fabulous, service perfect, and wines and food the best. The wine was incredible and then the best breads and dip. We had an antipasti platter with mozzarella and tomato, bruschetta, calamari, crab cakes, artichokes and more. Then for all came a tableside Caesar by Mario—the best. Entrees were amazing: rack of veal, rack of lamb, ravioli, duck, and trout—all with great sides. And then we had a dessert platter of crepes with Nutella, banana bread pudding, panna cotta, fruits and fun. What a perfect night.

TV was great with super displays of small plates from Parallel Seventeen, 1515 restaurant, Samba Room and Annie’s Café—all were great and so was the sandwich that Samba Room brought for each person.

Dinner at 1515 was wonderful. They have a new bar downstairs and it is very pretty. The food and service were great. We had the amuse of peach with blue cheese, and then croissant soup—a must—and a fabulous farmer’s salad and not to miss frog leg with a waffle. Entrees were the red snapper and barramundi and both were great-and so pretty in presentation too. Smoked chocolate ice cream was the only dessert as we were really full. It is a place to go and enjoy---very good and very special.

Parallel Seventeen is a place we stayed away too long. It is a hidden-or not so hidden—gem. The bar is great, ambience super, and food, wine and service could not be better!!! David was our waiter and what a gem he is too. We had the rabbit wonton—open faced with great cheese-just wonderful as were the lamb imperial spring rolls. Then we had the best—bacon baked for hours and served with a sweet blueberry accompaniment and salad. Next came the fries-sweet and Yukon and great dipping sauce. Ok—there was more-duck three ways, salmon in curry, and the calamari and citrus fry. Every dish was perfect and all the spices and flavors and accompaniments I did not even mention. And end it all with a divine truffle. The wine list is great and there is a super Sunday brunch-and lunch too. Get there if you have not been.

Steuben’s was rockin for lunch—and my friend had never been-we had great lunches-and she is on her way back—we had the Greek salad and the salmon salad and both were super good, huge, and fun. Service was fabulous.

Strings has a new menu—and a bracelet party for Ethiopia—all at once and it was great on all accounts. The bracelets are beautiful and the people were thrilled-and they are still for sale. And the new menu rocks and the place was very crowded and everyone was thrilled. We had the arugula salad and the divine squash gnocchi with Brussels sprouts for appetizers. Then we had the new pork, the new chicken, and the new scallops for entrees. The dishes were great-sides divine, and wine too. It was great—and get by and try it.

Rae sent to Fresh Fish Co. and loved it-and remember they take off the percentage of your age if you go on your birthday and show proof.

Kathy talked about ordering Edible Arrangements for friends all over the country-call any of the places here and they will take care of it for you—and they do deliver as well-remember the college kids, sympathy, hospital, birthdays, showers and more.

SILVER PLUME TEA AND ANTIQUE SHOP IS REOPEN IN SILVER PLUME AND DOING WEEKEND AFTERNOON TEAS THROUGH DECEMBER. THEY ARE FAUBLOUS.

Kathy also went to Taki Sushi and it was great.

Maria adored the Gabby dinner at Full Belly-it was super and everyone is planning on coming to more—go to Gabby Nights and Dinners for information on all.

Lillian wanted more details about the great Chili Verde-on 2700 Tennyson—and it is fabulous.

Pat called and we talked about Cocetti wines, Edible Arrangements which she uses all the time and Zengo. In Napa go to Bottega in Yonkville.

We had so many people stop in that we ran out of time.
Thanks for listening and calling.
And remember the dinner on Tuesday night at India’s.

Gabby
