The questions of the day—how many pounds of pork belly do they serve in one month at Rioga-on 14th and Larimer—Jennifer Jasinski- 150 lbs.

How many pounds does the steer delivered to Elise Wiggins at Panzano weigh minus head and hoofs before dressing---1200

And Avi gave away a blue tooth to the 10th caller.

Avi Dar of Phone Gear came by to do some filming of our radio show. He has the most incredible accessories for your phone-covers to protect them when you drop them-WHO WOULD DO THAT??—blue tooths, wire attachments, coating to protect your phone, handless help in the car, chargers, batteries, and on and on---and they have a new stereo for your use that is amazing-tiny and travels with you

HERE IS THE DEAL. BUY ANY ITEM AND GET 50 PERCENT OFF---THAT IS ANY ONE ITEM SO YOU CAN SELECT THE ONE THAT IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE—OR ONLY BUY ONE ITEM.

YOU HAVE TO SAY GABBY!!!! AND PHONE GEAR IS IN THE CHERRY CREEK MALL NEAR THE INFORMATION CENTER—AND THIS IS GOOD THROUGH NOVEMBER.

We had dinner at Colt and Gray-what a divine experience-the place was packed-the service, food, and wine were perfect-warm divine bread-yeah-and then the charcuterie platter is amazing-then the new and fabulous pumpkin soup and gnocchi-both divine. Then we had the salmon, the turkey truffle burger and the rack of lamb-and broccoli and green beans-veggies have new meaning here. Dessert was the chocolate ganache cake-to die for. It was perfect.

It was a double header as I got to go to Strings twice on Sunday.

Brunch was fabulous---it was very busy-and oh so good—we had eggs benedict, the pancakes and poached eggs and the fireman’s breakfast and all were incredible. So is the service-and the fun.

Dinner was just as big a hit!!! We had the Caesar, the beet, and the haricot vert salads and each was divine and very different than the others. Entrees were the chicken with the egg, rock fish, black linguini with clams and meatballs with polenta-which got raves saying nothing ever tasted that good. It was part of the 4 course dinner for $26.40 on Sunday nights. What a treat on both visits—

We got our plans changed when Mark had surgery and we had to recover at home.

Strings is about the best carryout anywhere!!!! We ordered three pastas-black linguini with clams, penne bagutta and a special pasta with penne bagutta and olive oil and garlic-and then came breadsticks and rolls, cheese, and of course we had Caesar salad—oh so good.

The saga of winter now continues—a very unusual week. I headed to TV and all the places arrived to show off the new book-and the weather took over. But we taped it and showed off Barolo Grill, Tables, India’s, and Bagel Deli. Hope it is on soon.

BUT YOU CAN BUY THE 2010 GABBY GOURMET RESTAURANT GUIDE EVERYWHERE.

We ventured out to lunch at Annie’s Café and I think lots of people were ready to break out—kids, families, and all-and all were delighted. We had tomato bisque, a fabulous brisket sandwich, a turkey sandwich, and poached eggs and pancakes and enjoyed it all.

Then C*Y Steak—Cliff Young’s latest venture, had a media party and we all did go out in the cold. We had a great time getting together and out of the snow-and out of the house. Cliff planned the menu with warm rolls, a charcuterie plate, a seafood platter, his famous table side Caesar salad, and then New York strip flamed tableside with port sauce. Sides of potatoes, hush puppies, black rice were served. And then came a cheese plate and chocolate. Lovely wines and service made it special.

The best was Friday night as we went to Root Down and it was perfect. The place was mobbed-the service perfect-and the food to die for plus!!!! We had carrot and red curry soup and zucchini and roasted poblano soup and then the new 4 onion risotto with huckleberry port wine sauce and scallops-seared sushi grade tuna with ginger jasmine rice and green papaya salad-seared diver scallops with plantain hash, mushroom bruschetta with haystack feta, lemon relish and greens, and then—yes then---lamb meatballs with herbed chickpea broth, salmon with citrus mustard glaze and Brussels sprouts, birsto tender with poblano crème frâiche, and Moroccan chicken. And a taste of chocolate vegan ice cream—and marvelous wines too.

Kathy called about Annie’s Café and it was perfect-in the storm too-she loved it.

She went to Strings twice and loved it.

Rae went to the Summit and Apple Creek.

Jack wanted steak downtown-we talked about Elway’s downtown but then he wanted less expensive-we talked about Ted’s, Dixons, and LoHi Steakbar too.

Celeste is having a shower and wants a Sunday daytime event in a private room—we had several—Highlands Garden Café, Root Down, Strings all filled the needs with great food, good prices, and private rooms.

Connie called about Yak and Yettie.

Mary Ann called suggesting Table 6 for the Sunday brunch party—and it is fantastic.

Lydia called about Chit Chat Bistro at 12500 W. 58th—303-456-2999—off I-70 and Ward-north to 58th—left ½ block-sounds great.

Elma went to Luca d’Italia and adored it—and her daughter found it to be the best in Denver.

Darlene suggested Table Mt. Inn for the brunch/party. And in Breckenridge she loved the Hearthstone-and it is in my book too!!!!

Delores went to Annie’s Café and loved it.

David called about his favorite place in Ft. Collins-Rustic Oven and says it is steaks, seafood and all with entrees under $20.

Regina called about the Salad nicoise at Le Central, Krackovia on 94th and Wadsworth, Abe’s Mediterranean Grill in Littleton for the best gyros, and finally, Chile Verde on Tejon.

Stu adores Red Tango on 38th.
