Known as THE GABBY GOURMET on
Denver radio and television, Pat Miller has been an
on-air personality for 31 years. She currently hosts her
own restaurant show on DENVER’S TALK STATION KHOW
AM630, aired every Saturday afternoon from
1-3pm. She appears Wednesdays on Channel 7, KMGH,
11am. News when a restaurant segment is featured.
Pat is a consultant to selected segments of the
hospitality industry, including the fine dining area of
A TASTE OF COLORADO, and writes for
COLORADO EXPRESSIONS’ MANGIA. She writes and
publishes the GABBY GOURMET RESTAURANT
GUIDE yearly with reviews of over 550
restaurants in the Denver and Colorado area. She is a
former cooking teacher and a member of the
INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CULINARY PROFESSIONALS
with full certification. She has written 6 cookbooks
including the popular FOR GOOD SPORTS & OTHER
COOKS II. Her GABBY GOURMET RESTAURANT
GUIDE has been a Denver Standard for 24 years.
The 2010 Gabby Gourmet Restaurant Guide is
now available. With the support and assistance of the
area foodservice industry, Pat has been active in
instituting a number of ongoing fund-raising benefits to
support the local MEALS ON WHEELS program,
and is a former member of the national governing board
of SHARE OUR STRENGTH and co-chairman and
organizer of Denver’s TASTE OF THE NATION,
the primary fund raising event for Share Our Strength.
She is instrumental in the launching of Peter Yarrow’s
(Peter, Paul and Mary) program, OPERATION RESPECT,
DON’T LAUGH AT ME in Colorado. This
anti-bullying program now is part of Colorado school
curriculums thanks to the money raised to put the
program in motion. She also started the DOUG
FLEISCHMANN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND WITH JOHNSON &
WALES UNIVERSITY. Pat is very excited with the
annual “GIVE PAWS”, a benefit for DENVER
DUMB FRIENDS LEAGUE. Pat started and heads this
cause to say thank you for her wonderful pup, Dudley,
and to help his less fortunate friends. She continues to
raise money for several charities each year. She has won
several awards including Volunteers of America, Colorado
Restaurant Association Hall of Fame and several others.
She also has an honorary doctorate from JOHNSON &
WALES UNIVERSITY. |
