A Perfect Spot for Tea—in Silver Plume

What a great treat on the road.

The Silver Plume Tea Company

Silver Plume

Driving to or from the mountains or just want to take a ride for a delightful experience without going too far from Denver, the place to go is the Silver Plume Tea Company.

The town is very small-and just take the turn off the highway and you are about there. Silver Plume is an antique shop as well as a tea room. There are old fashioned hats, all sorts of tea accessories and some very old, jewelry, and all sorts of knickknacks. But the array of teas really star with so many fantastic loose leaf teas from which to choose, about seventy or more. Some favorites include Kinnel’s Irish, Genmai cha (green), jasmine, white, gunpowder green and on and on. And then Sarah cooks up a storm of divine dishes each day. Waffles, breads such as dill and whole wheat, divine chicken salad, baked chicken, egg salad, Cornish pasties, or whatever the day brings. The pies are a specialty and wow: go for berry, peach, apple, buttermilk pecan, or add cookies, cinnamon rolls, muffins, brownies or cupcakes. All was wonderful and it depends on the day. There is full service at fun tables, and your tea is steeped to order. Plan high tea, a party, or order and they deliver. Silver Plume becomes a perfect destination with Silver Plume Tea room.
