Neighborhood Places Not To Miss: Park
Tavern Bar & Restaurant and Papou’s Pizza and Italian
Eatery

So much fun with great food for all.

Park Tavern and
Restaurant
931 E. 11th Ave.
At Ogden
303-832-7667
The logo at Park Tavern is
“Where the top dogs hang out” and you can figure that
one out after one visit. Enter to the bar area and
lounge on one side, complete with pool tables. The main
dining area features comfortable seating, lots of
booths, and TVs everywhere for those who want to watch.
It’s bar food done with lots of love and care. Every day
you can enjoy breakfast until 4pm or late night and dig
into pancakes, great French toast, eggs and all your
favorite dishes. There is a Mexican section with tacos,
enchiladas, rellenos, fajitas and burritos. Appetizers
rock with great hummus with veggies and pita, a Greek
platter with lamb, pork, chicken, dolmades and all the
trimmings, or Irish nachos. Add fried mac and cheese,
fish and chips, calamari, and wings, and you can munch
to your heart’s content. Burgers are half pound Angus
beef cooked to order accompanied by fries or onion
rings. The sandwich list ranges from chicken, BLT,
turkey and cheese melt, and French dip to gyros,
sausage, and Philly cheese steak. Add pizza and entrees
and you have something for everyone. Portions are huge
and the food is really good. End with a selection of
yummy Greek desserts. Service is great and of course,
there is lots of beer and wine to complement anything
you order. The “dogs” are having a great time at Park
Tavern and it’s a perfect neighborhood bar. Stop by
often.
PAPOU’S
Papou’s Pizza and
Italian Eatery
5075 Leetsdale Dr
Denver, 80209
303-523-4204
Walk into this warm and
happy place and you know you are in for a treat. Papou’s
is simple, one room, with a big counter displaying the
sweets, and seating around the area. It may be simple,
but it is simply great. Family run, everything is
homemade.
Start with the Greek salad or the Caesar and the divine
eggplant rollentino which is worth the visit. Other
appetizers include fried calamari, shrimp scampi,
bruschetta, and garlic bread. Pizzas are Connecticut
style, a not too thin crust with lots of topping and
then the round pies are cut in square pieces. They serve
traditional or gourmet pizzas. White, basil and tomato,
white clam, or chicken are some of the options. All are
so good and huge. There is more than pizza here with
amazing lasagna, calzones, ravioli, and pasta dishes.
Imagine chicken parmesan, veal marsala with salad,
pasta, and rolls, or if you prefer go for the grinders
and sandwiches. Whatever your wish, it’s there and
delicious. Leave room for baklava, canola, cheesecake,
and chocolate cake. There is a short wine and beer list,
friendly terrific service, prices affordable, and they
deliver. Owner Luke charms all and after one visit to
Papou’s, you will be part of the family. Mangia!
