The Gabby Group in Aspen at The Little Nell

Once again The Little Nell wowed a group of almost one hundred thrilled people---and some dogs who came too.

The new décor is gorgeous, the rooms so comfortable, and the service remains the best anywhere. The grounds are beautiful, and the restaurant incredible.

On Friday night a group of us went to Zocalito where we had a great Latin American dinner with margaritas, mojitos and wine. It was great fun.

The high point of the weekend---except for the people who went to see Ryan Hardy’s farm—amazing---and the radio show that rocked—was the dinner at the incredbile Montagna. Ryan Hardy is unbelievable and incredible, Dustin and Jonathon Pullis(master sommelier) made things even more exciting with great champagne, white and red wines with our meals.

We started with great breads, an amuse of asparagus soup, and then our choice of first courses----spaghetti with housemade cheeses, a green salad with greens and eggs from the farm, and the best seared tuna with greens and a fabulous spicy sauce. We all said ours was the best-but so were the other tastes.

Entrees brought the most divine chicken with mushrooms and the highlight of the night—the roasted beet with mozzarella, or lamb with spaetzle, or halibut with a light sauce. Again, each was perfection.

Desserts rocked with panna cotta or the best chocolate ganache a la mode.

Every minute was such a treat and everyone was so special.

On the way home, we stopped in Silver Plume where we had tea and brunch/lunch at the Silver Plume Tearoom---a favorite of mine. I adore all the teas and love trying them. But Sarah makes everything from scratch each morning for the day—we had waffles, chicken salad sandwiches on homemade dill bread, the best quiche ever-with the best bacon, baked chicken, Cornish pasties, and then the pies—wowwy!!!! And cinnamon rolls, and brownies, and on and on… My favorite tea is genmai chai but there are about 70 from which to choose.. and all the food is amazing. She is open every day until Labor Day so stop by.

AND BIG EXCITEMENT

On august 28 and 29, Aspen and Little Nell are hosting the barbecue weekend with Danny Myer of New York. I will give you all details of this fabulous event. It is the 8th year in New York City—and will be a big hit here.
