THE CARTS ARE HOT !!!!

ALL OVER THE CITY TRUCKS AND CARTS ARE IN!!!

The latest national rage is carts-in many forms ---and
they have hit Denver and surrounding areas in style with
super food—and super fun.
It is pretty damn impressive when Food & Wine Magazine
voted Roy Choi Kogi BBQ truck, Los Angeles one of the
top 10 chefs at Aspen Food & Wine in 2010. How far we
have come.

Start with Gastro Cart on 18th & Curtis. The owners come
from the very popular Table 6 and decided this is the
way to go—and it is. Watch them grill your orders and
you walk away with some terrific choices. The lamb gyros
with quinoa, the veggie spicy taco, the spicy chicken
taco, and the pork carnita taco are some favorites. When
available, the tongue is a real treat. Don’t forget a
Mexican coke to wash it all down.

BRAVA!!, the new pizza spot on 16th & Arapahoe by
Lannie’s Clocktower is outrageous. The wood-fired oven
that heats to 700 degrees, atop the big wheels looks
incredible, and the pizza was fabulous. As the chefs
toss the pies, top them and then place them in the oven,
you watch as the flames start to cook the thin crust
pizza in minutes. It arrives brown and delicious and
topped with olive oil. There is the margarita and many
combos, all very fresh with Colorado ingredients when
possible, and lots of love. It is a real hit and big
treat.

Biker Jim’s Dogs is almost a legend already with
national recognition ---for good reason. Located on the
16th St. mall, it also travels to Metro and next to the
Argonaut Liquor Store on E. Colfax where the parking lot
is filled with cars and pedestrians to get the dogs!!!
The chefs cannot make them fast enough and people do not
wait but start digging into them before they take them
to the lunch spot. It’s instant gratification as you
chow down on the kosher, the rattlesnake, the bacon, the
Alaskan reindeer or wild boar. That is just a sampling.
The onions are caramelized on the spot to top

The Denver Cupcake Truck travels to different locations
daily-depending on the activity around town. And brings
Chocolate Overload, Vanilla Party, Zippy Lemon, Mile-Hi
Mocha, and
Rockin' Red Velvet to please those cravings.
The Denver Biscuit Company offers gigantic homemade
biscuits filled with eggs, sausage, fried chicken and
gravy, and all things rich and fun.

Streatchefs is a limosene and Chef Hosea Rosenberg,
winner of Bravo’s Season 5, brings his style to the car.
Some of the options in this great looking spot include
Thai shrimp lettuce wraps, pulled pork tacos, and the
best cheese, bacon, chili tator tots—oh my beating
heart. You’ll find Hosea and his truck in Boulder.

Steuben’s truck is a hoot. Great looking and very
Steuben’s in blue and brown, step up and order burgers,
chili burgers, fries, and the best pulled pork done in
small balls and deep fried and dipped in sugar. I
doubted it till I tried it and was hooked. You’ll find
the truck in Civic Center Park and other locations.
