Here's the scoop from the Gabby Gourmet Restaurant Show on Saturday January 28, 2011. We were at the Blue Bonnet Mexican Restaurant, a landmark in Denver. My guests were Gary Mobell and his great chef Luis. NEW DINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Monday, April 16th @ 6:30 p.m. Phone: 303-623-5700 Diane and Tom Coohill invite you to join them at a Gabby dinner that will be sure to tantalize your taste buds. With a focus on local, regional, and farm-fresh ingredients, Coohills cuisine is reminiscent of what you might find in casual bars and restaurants in Europe. The open kitchen and uniquely modern interior underscores Coohills style—the price is $45 inclusive of tax, tip and wine. We had a great brunch and lunch here at Blue Bonnet, 457 S. Broadway—303-778-0147,----and the callers agreed. There is a special today and tomorrow for their signature tacos for $7.95 instead of $9.95 for Gabby listeners. They have all sorts of specials—a huge variety of margaritas, and new sauces that replace Tabasco, etc—all are super—ask for them as they are not on everything. They have a party room, and a great gluten free menu. Callers who have the problem called to say it is the best!!!! The question of the day—home many #6-enchilada dinner-not the sides, combos or anything like that—did they sell in 2011-50, 482. We had a great call on the fantastic new Frijoles Colorado, Cuban Cuisine. And then 20 calls on the Blue Bonnet—from when they came in the 70s, before the building of a new building right next to the old—to the present where all the people still come to enjoy the great fare. The chile rellenos seems to be the most popular dish but there are several more choices. And desserts are great too!! Good for the Blue Bonnet and all you callers who called to rave. See you Monday at Las Brisas for the Gabby dinner. And next Saturday we will be at Volcano.
