Here's the scoop from the Gabby Gourmet Restaurant Show on Saturday September 24th, 2011. We were at the Ritz Carlton celebrating first the Great American Beer Festival---a great time in Denver with the main event totally sold out. At the Ritz we were at the great Beer Party happening with beer and the beer makers, brats, pretzels, food, entertainment and fun. My guests were Allyson Fredeen of the Ritz Carlton, Andrew Rogers, General Manager of the Ritz, Rich Grant head of the GABF and Denver Events, Tyler Joyce of the Great Divide Brewing Company, and Chris Katechis of Oskar Blues Brewery in Longmont and Lyons—and restaurants too. Right after the show, the Beer and Brats event at the Ritz took place—and what fun-beer, pretzels, brats and fun. Monday night is the Gabby dinner at Union Brasserie-Cedar and S. Union and it will be great. New Dinner: Monday, October 17th @ 6:30 p.m. Hideaway Steakhouse Phone: 303-404-9939 Join us at Hideaway Steakhouse - where classic American Steakhouse meets contemporary upscale restaurant. Locally owned and operated, they use fresh seasonal ingredients to create innovative and exceptional dishes that you won't find elsewhere in the north Denver metro area. The price is $35 per person inclusive of tax, tip and wine. The menu includes crab cakes, filet mignon, salmon and fresh Colorado peaches. A dinner you won't want to miss. The question of the day—how many brownie lollypops did the Ritz Carlton/Elway’s Downtown sell at Taste of Colorado before they ran out----2,750. The beers we tasted were great and the amount of different beers, styles, etc is unbelievable. You can taste many at the events coming up. We had several calls A wedding in Vail at Larkspur was first and how perfect it was. The place is great and so was every detail. I mentioned that Thomas Salimonovich also created Larkburger-the caller did not know—it is fabulous and they are all over Denver. A called had been to Strings and Wild Catch and loved them both. Shells and Sauce was fabulous and Bittersweet as well—and both have new fall menus. A caller talked about a great meal at Twelve with excellent food and service. It is on Larimer. Some callers were interested in the Great Divide Fresh Hops-it will be out October 1 and when it is gone, it is gone. We had a discussion with a caller about Groupons, etc and how they are being used by diners to go out more often. We also spoke to the guys from Kentucky Street Barn Burners--Parlor Pickers—great guys playing some great music. Parlorpickers.com Next week Gabby will be back on location at The Ritz Carlton for the Beer Fest Celebration.
