Here's the scoop from the Gabby Gourmet Restaurant Show on Saturday November 12th, 2011.

We were at Natural Grocers Vitamin Cottage on Arapahoe and University.

My guests were Nancy Flynn of Vitamin Cottage,marketing manager of Natural Grocers and Lani, the most amazing, interesting, and super nutritionist-who actually loves bacon, pork, butter, and eats-although knows the good and bad.
And Jane and Brett of Wooden Table were there too-they are fabulous and so is the restaurant. We talked about all the great food they are serving, the super wines and service, and all things divine here. They are on Orchard and University

CHANUKAH DINNER AT ELWAY’S

Our own Rabbi Foster will light the candles and tell us the story of Chanukah at Elway’s Downtown on December 21, 2011. He has started the holiday for the last few years and it is a wonderful beginning of the celebration. This year, Elway’s Downtown is adding dinner for all of us.

The service starts at 6 and will be followed at 6.30 with a great family-style dinner. Whether Jewish or Christian, you are welcome to come and enjoy the holiday-great food and fun at a very special place the price is $25.00/person (to include tax and tip). Bring the kids, parents, friends, and grandparents—one and all to celebrate the holiday.

Family Style menu not including wine:
Braided Challah
Braised Beef Brisket, Mustard and Rye Crust
Sautéed Green Beans with Toasted Sesame Jam
Honey-Glazed Roasted Root Vegetables
Potato Latkes with Roasted Spiced Apple Sauce

The question of the day: how many pumpkins did Natural Grocers sell in the 2010 holiday season---36,000!!!

How many pounds of sausage did they use in the 2 months Wooden Table has been open-123 pounds-it is only in 2 dishes.

We talked about great foods, preparations, nutrients, exercise and fun. We discussed microwaves for cooking-fine for water but not preparation of whole meals-when you reheat do not use plastic.
