Here's the scoop from the Gabby Gourmet Restaurant Show on Saturday October 01, 2011. We were in the studio and my guests were Lori Midson, Café Society and editor at Westword and Steve Miller of Netnewsdesk. Question of the day:
Le Grand Bistro, the new French bistro downtown where the folks from Argyll have created the perfect spot for great French fare are hosting a Gabby dinner for us. This will be a very exciting event---and the folks at Le Grand Bistro want to show off the new space, great food and wine, and the place to be before or after theater---and any time. Reserve early. The price including tax, tip, and wine is $40 per person. This Tuesday is the Gabby dinner at Chinook Tavern with our very special Raclette dinner—it is gonna be fabulous. Lori told us about a lot of new restaurants—some we had both been to, others not. First—there is a rally on Monday at 10am at Confluence Park on 16th and Arapahoe for people to show their displeasure at bill 300. Please read about and support our views and vote no if you do not go---go if you can. Harvest week is October 9-13—go to Eatdenver.com to read about the dinners happening and fun events. It sounds great. And you can get all the details there. We talked about Wooden Table—both Lori and I love it—we talked about Le Grand Bistro-another favorite so reserve early for our dinner. We talked about 95A in Lafayette, Ling and Louie closing downtown, Café/Bar open at 295 S. Penn, and Axio’s on Tennyson where Brasserie Felix was. Kathy adored the dinner at Union Brasserie, loves Parallel 17, and then we talked about great dinners at Street Kitchen. And she had a marvelous meal at Tables. Perry says Empire Diner in Louisville is doing a Rosh Hashanah meal for 2 weeks to celebrate the holiday. Sally loves Taki Sushi on Bayoud and Logan—it is very good. Barb adored Linger---and so do we!!!!! Lori and I talked about our love of Bittersweet as well. Ron went to Wooden Table and thinks it is the best ever-red sauce, and everything. Cathy had the buffet brunch at the Summit and loved it. Ellen went to Black Cat in Boulder and says it is great but empty. Give it a try. We had several discussions about the bill 300—do not forget that.
