We were at Cellar Wine Bar at 2556 15th
303-455-9463

My guests were Brian, Evan and more.----- info@cwbon15th.com . Juan Padro of Highland Tap & Burger came by too.

We had a great time-Evan is beyond amazing and the wines and selections and prices are unbelievable!!!!! We had some fabulous wines-and super tapas and food too. The place is really neat as well. Happy hour is $5 a glass or really great glasses half price. Do not miss them.

Juan told us about the first Lady’s Beer night club this Tuesday. We will be there!!!! And their 5280 of dinner for 4 with burgers and more and a bottle of wine or beer for each person. We will stay for that too.

Caroline Potter of Open Table called to chat. She is located in New York City but a fun person to speak with. She was so delightful and told us about Open Table and we talked about the great response of Denver people for Restaurant Week, eating out, and great places.
She was thrilled that you can reserve on Open Table from my new app.

The question of the day: how many glasses does Brian wash in a night-252

We went to Street Kitchen for dinner-it is just plain the best!!!! The food, service, ambience, and this time we had Tiger beer and it was perfect with the food. We started with shrimp dumplings, crab dumplings, and chicken ginger dumplings and they were all fabulous. Then we had our pork ribs and Mark had his short ribs—both the best. Then we were missing Sri Lanka and wanted hot and spicy-so we got the Pananng curry hot-loved it and the coconut brown rice to go with—we also had the roti with curry potato dip and beef satay. And don’t forget the Vietnamese coffee panna cotta. It was all so perfect.

Sunday night was a real treat-really great---Bistro One has a new chef, new menu, wines, super service-and a casual great time where you can now go often---and we will. The place always looks great and did---Jay Michael, the new chef, is very creative-and charming-and so good. From the south, he shows his southern roots off well. We had fried green tomatoes and the tomato-mozzarella cups for appetizers. Then we had the yummy divine fried chicken and the perfect salmon—and the best house salad for entrees. Dessert was a decadent chocolate brownie. Wine was super as well. The whole evening very fun and very special-Jay Michael, Rachael, and owner Alex are all a delight. Get there---and Bistro One will be our Be Our Guest restaurant in March-that’s how good it is.

Lunch at Strings was wonderful as always. We had the Tammy chicken salad—instead of the Gabby chicken salad sandwich today---and the egg yolk ravioli---both were divine. A bit of sorbet ended the meal—along with great service and a fun time.

We went to the new Se7en for dinner as they are doing a Gabby dinner soon. You all are in luck and in for one great night of dining. This is totally upscale divine Chinese like you all are asking for in Denver. We had so many things from the best crab wonton, lamb kabobs, and scallion pancakes for starters to super soups and more. Then we had spectacular beef dishes- 3 of them, and tofu that you would not believe is tofu in divine sauce, my favorite green curry with chicken, spicy rice noodles, fried rice, brown and white rice too-and not sure what else---but we did not stop eating it was so very divine. And then green tea and pineapple coconut ice cream and something mulchi---wine and beer and sake too. Get over there. We are doing a remote there on march 5—next Saturday and come by and sample some great food at reasonable prices.

WE WENT by Annie’s café for lunch after the doctor and it was super—we had the omelet and the fajita salad and enjoyed both.

Dinner at the bar—yes here we go again—at Barolo Grill was beyond heavenly!!! Ryan O’Brian is great and the food and wine was spectacular---we had a wine from Italy-the winemaker was in the back—wow!!! Will share the name when I find it---then the dinner-my favorite rolls and then an amuse of vitello tonnato, and then the Caesar salad and the parmesan soufflé for appetizers---entrees were divine-salmon, pork, and risotto and oh so incredible. Desserts were the molten chocolate cake, panna cotta, and semi fredo---what a treat-and bar dining is just the best too.

Tv was great fun doing some of the restaurants participating in Restaurant Week-there will be more next week as well.

We went to Highland Tap and Burger for dinner-that is a blast—the busiest place in town with lots of noise-but fun and food that is super terrific –we had wine and beer and chicken wings-these are fabulous---and the best soup-a curry with sweet potato-to die for.
Then we had the Schmoo burger, the lamb burger, the chicken and bacon sandwich and onion rings and fries and slaw and salad---and chocolate bread pudding!!! Oh so good and so much fun—love it.

Masterpiece deli is always the best and for a treat my friend brought us all the best egg salad sandwiches—wish they delivered.

We went to the new Marco’s Coal Fired Pizza for dinner and it is spectacular. If possible it is even better than the first one---but wow!!!! It is gorgeous and fun—the place was totally filled and they served everyone just like they had been open for years. We started by sharing the new dish—fried pizza-and it is great-the dough is flash fried and then topped with tomatoes and fabulous cheeses-some smoked which is not my favorite (smoked) but I loved it and so did everyone else. Then we had a fabulous salad and then a great pizza and terrific sandwich with prosciutto and eggplant---and then tiramisu. Wine and beer were great too.

With Marco’s and Street Kitchen open at the Shops at Vallagio this is definitely the place to go and try them both. They are great, reasonable, terrific, fun, and wow!!!

Cultur House at the Art Museum had an event-the art of the chef—at Gourmet Fine Catering. I was a judge with a group of others----
Gourmet Fine Catering is where Give Paws is held—and they do such a great job always.

The event was great---and of all places, Snooze—the breakfast place in Denver that gets the most press-and people—won the food from the judges—their pork belly was amazing!!!

Then we went over to Elway’s Cherry Creek to the bar to visit and have some fun too---we had the scallops, the blt salad with egg (my fav), and then the best chips, fries, mac and cheese, and polenta—does that sound healthy?????????? But wonderful and that is what counts.

Kathy called about a dinner she had at Se7en and adored it—the gentleman from there happened to be at Cellar and he spoke to her. She loved it—had totally different things than we did. She went to Highland Tap & Burger and loved it too-and she really loved Bistro One. The new menu is so good and fun and affordable.

Suzanne is a huge fan of Cellar Wine Bar and was there enjoying the show and buffet and fun. The buffet does not happen every day.

Lydia loved the Cherry Cricket—we all do.

John called about fried green tomatoes—we had them at Bistro One and loved them. Someone had them at Merle’s too.

Gwen is going to Strings tonight for Restaurant Week and has her meal selected from the internet.

Peggy is going to Grand Luxe.

We were out of time with all the great conversations.

Thanks so much for listening and calling

See you at Rioja next week.
