This week's PLAYBACK
Part 1:
Part 2:
My guests were Marc Steron and Chef Keith -Stictch of Shanahan's on Belleview off of I-25.
This is one fabulous steakhouse and on the top list for great food, wine and service.
There are so many great things-the happy hour is amazing in food and wine and prices. The bar menu is terrific and worth the trip-stop in often and grab a banquette, high top table or seat at the bar and enjoy. The menu is full of divine options with as many seafood and steak items as there can be-sides, apps, salads galore. And super wines by the glass as well as bottle are available---and beer too. It is just great.
Sunday night supper is a price of $45 inclusive of several courses and dessert.
The fun goes on and on.
The question of the day: how many guests have they served from dec.24, 09-when they opened to Dec 24, 2010---95,000.
THURSDAY IS THE GABBY DINNER AT ZI FUSION-IT WILL BE GREAT AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL THERE.
We had dinner at the bar at Shells and Sauce and it was fabulous!!! Brady is super-so is Andrew-no missing when you eat there---and we had a super pinot, great bread, the cioppino and salmon and it was perfect. Love that place.
The Gabby dinner at Elway's Cherry Creek was incredible, fabulous, and everything perfect. And no one was disappointed as they did it all. We had great wine, food and perfect service-and a full house in the blizzard. We started with calamari, shrimp cocktail, crab cakes and lamb abodonzas. Then we had our choice of Caesar, house, wedge with bacon, or squash soup next. Entrée choices were tuna, salmon, chicken, prime rib, strip, and enchiladas=--and we all had potatoes, corn, ratatouille, and cauliflower too. Dessert choices were ding dong, cookies warm from theoven, crème brûlée and cheesecake---and everyone loved every bite.
Mark is at a terrific rehab "hotel" Azura Lakewood-the people, caring and all are the best. They are wonderful. The guests eat in the bistro and we joined them for lunch. There is a menu from which to choose. We had a lovely egg salad sandwich, great chicken and rice soup, salads, and a super pasta which they made especially for Mark with more spice. And they had panna cotta and pumpkin pie for dessert.
We went to Parallel 17 and settled in a cozy corner on this very cold night. We shared their fabulous crepes and ban mih sandwiches with pork. And the tea was excellent too. It was perfect for a winter night out.
TV with the great steaks for stock show was terrific on Wednesday on Channel 7 at 11. we showed off Shanahan's, Elway's, Edge, LoHi, and the Keg. All were great-watch the segment under TV appearances and this Wednesday-watch for some great new places on the segment.
Then we went by the new Fleur Bistro on 12th and Logan for lunch. The place is one room and charming -we had wraps-there were salads, sandwiches, salads, and wraps-we did not get to dessert-and have to go back for dinner and brunch. The wraps were good.
Dinner at Strings-at the bar-was great. Such fun and a full bar to share with my friend and with others there. We had the squash soup and the Brussels sprouts salad and then the veal chop and the trout. And a bit of wine and chocolate mousse cake-and Kris to keep us company too. What fun.
Noel's benefit to raise money for Rick Hodes and surgeries made a fortune for a fabulous cause-and they did an amazing job-congratulations.
Lunch at Assignments was great-it just opened for this semester-get over-I had a chicken sandwich on foccacia that was amazing.
Dinner at Root Down was beyond incredible; it was mobbed and fantastic as always. It never ceases to amaze me how the food is so new and perfect. We had carrot curry soup, the squash salad, the amazing areypas with mozzarella, the beet salad with cheese, duck confit sliders, sweet potato fries ono and steak combo, and enchiladas with crab, and wild salmon-UNCLE
