Here's the Scoop from the Gabby Gourmet Restaurant Show on Saturday, January 1, 2011.

We were at the Bagel Deli on Hampden and Monaco-a real favorite of mine.
Joe Kaplan and Olav Peterson of the new Bittersweet were there with me.

Bittersweet is at 500 E. Alameda-303-842-0320-will open officially on tues-tues-through sat.

The bagel Deli is always open-and always great-Monaco and Hampden and the number is 303-756-6667.
Breakfast lunch and dinner are all great-and chicken in a pot is a riot!!! And all things there are so good.

The questions of the day
How many Latkes did the Bagel Deli make for Chanukah -5, 338
How many bottles of wine did Olav taste before they selected the 26 on the list-175.

Both places are great.

This Monday is the Gabby dinner at Japoix. It will be great fun so be there.

Dinner at India's, a Christmas tradition in our house, was fabulous. The place was mobbed and the food so wonderful. We had chicken and onion fritters and samosas to start. Then we had lamb and spinach paneer, chicken and shrimp tiki, curry of chicken, cauliflower and potatoes, nan breads of every kind, and then galub jamon, rice pudding and mango kulfi. And of course a great Indian beer was the best.

We ordered dinner from Steuben's with their great carryout space. We all shared-the best tomato soup (always), great deviled eggs, and super veggie burgers. We loved it all. And they send silver, condiments and all the good stuff too. They do a great job on this.

I got to go to a party at Shells and Sauce as a guest of a terrific family and we had a great time. First we saw the lights at Botanic Gardens and they are amazing-then the fabulous dinner. We had salads first-Caesar and the bruschetta too. And the great bread is always a treat. Then we had super wine and divine entrees of cioppino over angel hair, penne special, fusilli with vodka cream and pancetta and more, sea bass, and chicken stuffed with cheese---wow!!! All were fabulous.

On TV I did favorites for the year-Root Down, Shells and Sauce, Strings, Madison St., and Annie's café-all are so much fun and so good.

Then I had lunch at Randolph's at the Warwick-what a deal-fabulous food and great prices-the public should all be there-and complimentary valet too. We had shrimp gumbo, great breads, and then the ahi tuna filet burger and the turkey and bacon club-and sweet potato chips. It was great.

Dinner was carryout perfect from Stings where Noel and group fixed a fabulous home meal. We had salad, great rolls, breadsticks, and then the seafood pasta and crispy chicken. What a treat.

This week coming up on TV on January 5 we are featuring Gluten Free places thanks to a request.

We did not go out but did have super carryout from Strings

And a New Year's Eve dinner from there-Strings-that was amazing. Mark had an abscess tooth pulled on that day---the end of the year mess-and hoping the last.

We had parsnip soup and pasta---and salads, salmon with mashed poatoes, asparagus and broccoli and yummy rolls and all good things. And I opened my own bottle of wine to toast a better new year.

To all of you great people, readers, listeners, callers, viewers on TV-my thanks for being there and so wonderful. I wish you all the best and a great year-and hope you will spend part of it with me.

Doug called to say he comes down from Boulder to eat at the Bagel Deli-his family owned at Deli on Delancy St. in New York-so you can imagine. And the pastrami sandwiches are a riot-the biggest ever.

The table next to us had 8 people eat more food than I have ever seen-and loved every bite-we loved all we had too.

Kathy adored the tomato soup and veggie burger at Steuben's. and she had New Year's Eve dinner at Strings and it was perfect.

Diane went to the new Yardhouse on 16th and Tremont near the Sheraton and it was great. The food and beers were super. She also said the Basil Doc has gluten free pizza-remember we talked a lot about it last week-and I am doing this on TV this Wednesay.

Faye adored the Bagel Deli and stops to take home hot pastrami all the time.

Lydia loved Fogo De Chao and the Charthouse.

Johan is a huge fan of the Bagel Deli-but says to split a monster sandwich. He also enjoyed the Buckhorn Exchange with his family.

We ran out of time-but not fun-which is what happens as everyone is family at the Bagel Deli.
