We were at Pickles Deli off C-470 and Bowles. My guests were James Mazzio, Dan Borgman from the farmers market, and Steve Miller.
We also spoke to Michelle from Snow Creek Ranch-prime steaks-divine and someone won one. And she will have steaks at A Taste of Colorado at one of our demos.
And Dan Montoya form Mama Montoya’s green chile—it is fabulous!!! It comes mild or hot.
The sandwiches at Pickles rock!!!!
The questions of the day—how many ears of corn did they sell at Tipsy’s farmers market on Friday—it is small-the answer is 350.
How many candies are in each barrel-625.

Pickkles phone number—303-507-7070---catering is great too.

Strings has great 5280 menus on Sunday. We talked about some.
And do not miss the champagne—bubbly bbq on August 26—we will be there-it will be great.

YOU MUST TRY RANDOLPH’S—THE PLACE IS SO GORGEOUS, PATIO FABULOUS, LIKE A FREE STANDING RESTAURANT. And there is complimentary valet parking anytime.
Our dinner with wines is gonna be amazing—be there.
We had lunch on the patio-one of the prettiest in Denver!!!! Service was perfect and free parking too. We had the tortilla soup, and then the club sandwich with crispy bacon as ordered, the Italian Panini with fries, and the pulled pork with bbq on a bun. And all were great. Do not miss the sweet potato chips too. PRICES ARE INCREDIBLY AFFORDABLE AND IT IS SO RELAXING HERE. ONCE YOU TRY IT, YOU WIL BE AT RANDOLPH’S ALL THE TIME-BOTH FOR FOOD, PRICE, SERVICE, AND VALET!!!!!

Let’s start with Snowmass and our trip. Coming and going, we stopped at Silver Plume Tea Room for lunch---it is a riot-an antique shop with great food!!! We love it and the tea is awesome. We had quiche, chicken salad sandwiches, baked chicken, cheddar cheese soup, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, cookies, pies-breads—all are homemade right there.

Then we continued to the Viceroy where our group gathered for a fabulous weekend.
The hotel is gorgeous with beautiful amenities and the people who work there are incredible. Our rooms were terrific, and the whole experience was fabulous. The dining room is fantastic in décor, food, wine and service divine.
Our dinner was perfect. There were tons of choices for each course-and we had a 4 course dinner with wines with each. The breads include corn bread and pretzel bread. The first course choices included heirloom tomato with house made mozzarella on flat breads, duck confit with local goat cheese on flatbread, risotto croquettes with braised beef short rib and cheese, crisp new potatoes with cheddar-bacon aioli—and we had all and shared. The next course was soup or several excellent salads---I might add portions were gigantic.
Entrees were pasta, wild salmon, fabulous steak, achiote shrimp with masa griddle cake, chicken, and striped bass. Each had great accompaniments.

And finally great desserts of chocolate pot de crème with cherry compote and marshmallow, cheesecake with chevre, and brown butter apricot tart with honey ice cream.

No one wanted to leave—it was so great.

On Friday night we went to one of my favorite restaurants, Six89 in Carbondale. It was awesome, outrageous, fabulous---and really good. The place is casual, prices are wonderful, service divine, wine list great, and the food remarkable in every way. Homemade breads start. And then we could not decide on appetizers to share—we had a great amuse, and then the squash blossoms to die for, the best pork belly sliders on the best buns, and divine halibut ceviche—and don’t forget the soft poached egg from their chickens in back—as fresh as possible. Then we had the half chicken, the pork, the amazing lamb with fresh corn, and the corn crusted salmon. Each dish is surrounded by fresh from the farm accompaniments. There is no way to begin to describe how fabulous it all is. And then we had butterscotch budino with salted caramel, and housemade goat cheesecake with Colorado cherries. Ask for Bryce, the amazing executive chef too.

The question of the day was how many peaks over 14,000 in Colorado--54

On the show we interviewed Bryce Orblom of Six 89. He is a graduate of Johnson and Wales and he started in high school.

We discussed the program which is Early enrollment for seniors where they attend J & W at a lesser price and graduate from high school and have the first year of their education completed. The remaining fees are much less. There is also a Pro Start program is your school is part of it.

Then Rob Zack and Francis of the Viceroy came by. Francis is the chef in the sushi restaurant Nest-by the pool-it is great looking and food is awesome. We had sushi, the divine crab cakes and tempura—and want more.

Rob was in charge of our dinner and all the food at the hotel. They were great.

Adele adored Elway’s Cherry Creek-the music and food-and the lamb sliders.

Ian wanted Mexican food in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, etc. and wow, our listeners came to the rescue.

Lori Midson, food editor of Westword helped with her favorite in the Springs- Tacqueria la Unica.
Pueblo choices were El Nopal, and Gorges Sombrero. And several loved Fiesta Halisco in Monument.

Helen called about the Chit Chat Bistro on 58th and Ward Rd. She said brunch was great there.

George loved Bonefish.

Kathy was up at the event and raved about the Viceroy and then the 5280 dinners at Strings on Sunday nights—for 2 when the young chefs design and prepare the best 4 course dinners!!!! You must try them and they change weekly.

Sally wanted real mole-we talked about Chile Verde.
And we had many more calls and a lot of fun.

We will be at Pickles next week –come on out and visit.

Thanks –gabby.

On Sunday night we just ordered my favorite-Gabby’s curried chicken salad sandwiches from Strings—a treat to eat—and to stay home.

We went to Encore for dinner and it was great. Lots of burgers around us as Monday is burger night there-but we did not have that-but had a great dinner, nice wines too. We had super foccacia, the best tomato soup with crab, and a beet salad where everything else was great too. Then we had chicken with peaches-divine and a super great lamb burger cooked as ordered. Yeah for Mark. And then we had the decadent, delicious, chocolate soufflé. Service is fabulous too.

We went to Shanahan’s for dinner. It is totally awesome and everything is now perfect. The service is divine, the new head wine person has changed the list and it is great with many more by the glass and prices are excellent too. We started with the warm divine bread and then the new Dungeness crab cocktail-the best thing ever, new mussels, and the crab cakes. Then we all shared the signature beet salad. Entrees started with a new and perfect chicken, the best—and a Niman Ranch prime strip that is totally awesome, and a favorite veal chop. We had parmesan fries and truffled mac and cheese as sides. To end this feast and worth the trip is the lemon tiramisu---you have to try it!!!!! It was all perfect. And there are Sunday night specials and the patio and entertainment on the patio on Wednesday nights too.

TV on channel 7 at 11am on Wed. was great when we showed off the farmers market at Tipsy’s. it was fabulous with super things. Go to TV appearances and see the entire segment.

We went to dinner with a friend to Satchel’s. he had not been there and was totally wowed and impressed-and he should be—so has everyone else been after a visit. The wines were divine and so much fun. We had the homemade bread in a clay pot, crawfish salad and burrata with a huge array of tomatoes and toast. Then we had the sea bass, the chicken and the gnocchi with morels for entrees. They were perfect and so was the chocolate truffle ball with ancho for dessert. The meal was just fabulous.

We went with friends to Tables and it was fabulous as always. The food wine, service, and fun shine here. Amy and Dustin are great. We had great bread and the house salad and the divine heirloom tomato salad to start. Then we had the tuna burger, the burger of the night, the quail with beets and the fabulous pork chop for entrees. We were too full for dessert with all that great food.

We went to Elway’s Lodo where they are featuring a fabulous sushi bar and bar food that rocks. We had incredible sushi-the chef is from Sushi Den, etc—Jake and his himachi with jalapeno started the feast, sea bass, tuna, and more carpacico and then the fabulous rainbow rolls—what a treat. Then we looked at the bar menu that is sensational. We had the guacamole and chips and then the lamb chops with cheese fondue, and the Caesar salad—we were going for the lobster flatbread, the short rib sliders, and more but ran out of room. The 47 wines by the glass are amazing and the ones we chose were great. We ended with tiramisu-fabulous too. And now they are carrying my favorite Teatulia tea. It is worth the trip=---along with perfect service, great valet, super wine guy and great food. Like get there now.

Tim called about the margaritas at Las Brisas.

Lori had fabulous prime rib at the Keg Steakhouse.

We talked about the super Sunday night prime rib at Shanahan’s—and everything else- a great price in 2 sizes for all to enjoy.

Chris wanted to know about Baur’s restaurant downtown. It is in the original Baur’s building.

Marcia said Citron Bistro has good prime rib.

Joe called to talk about prime rib—and good food at the Bent Fork in Loveland. There is one in Aurora too.

Stu went to Red Tango and had a great meal-and they are adding a wine bar. That would be great.

Ron likes the prime rib at Briarwood Inn and Flemings.

Laura had a super smashburger.

Jackie called about the amazing dinner at Root Down-gabby dinner. She went to Baur’s once and it was ok.

Ann had a great birthday dinner at Il Posto.
