NEXT WEEK’S PLANS.
Gabby will be on KHOW from the Taste of Colorado from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
That’s because the Rockies changed the time of their game to conflict with the CU/CSU football game, and we needed to move the Rockies to KHOW. That broadcast begins at 1:30 that day.
BE SURE AND LISTEN AND CALL IN AND JOIN US FOR THE FUN ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 AT THE Greek AMPHITHEATER IN CIVIC CENTER PARK AT A TASTE OF COLORADO!!!!!
WE WILL BE THERE ALL 4 DAYS-FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY, AND MONDAY WITH AMAZING GUESTS, GREAT DEMOS, AND SUPER FUN.
We were in aspen at the first Big Aspen BBQ—which happens in New York City every year. Danny Meyer was here for that—with Tyler Wiard of Elway’s Cherry Creek and more.

The Lulu barbecue event is unbelievable. This is the ninth year at the most generous people’s home—who do it all-and the Dumb Friends League is the beneficiary of all this. 100 percent goes there-the barbecue folks come to cater from Texas-the food was outrageous and so good-the wines from Republic National Distributers brought only the best and so good, and Lional Ritchie entertained the crowd. It was a perfect night.
We went to Chile Verde to celebrate and anniversary-what a treat- first the wines are great and the prices spectacular!!!! So go and enjoy-and beer and drinks too. Then we had the super chips and dips and the best guacamole. Entrees were divine: shrimp, chile rellenos, crepes, fish tacos, and mole. And the flan is great too. What a treat.
I was invited to the reopening of the redone Restaurant Kevin Taylor for lunch. The new look is modern, inviting and contemporary with white and black, striped carpet with black, white and gray, wood walls topped with white paint over the wood wainscoating. White light drapes, crystal chandeliers, ebonized wood tables with placemats, no linens, and comfortable chairs set the scene. The food was Kevin and very very delicious of course. We had gnocchi with asparagus, apples, celery and truffle blue cheese and then terrific salmon with sweet potato puree. Kevin’s chocolate dessert with all sorts of toppings made a great ending. Service was perfect as always. Read more on September 1st on the new features on the homepage of the webpage.
El Diablo opens on 101 Broadway and you will see the crowds. The place is gorgeous-décor incredible-remember it is a bar, Mexican, crowded and fabulous. Drinks of beer, tequila, mixed drinks and wine rock. Service is amazing—and the food—just the best. Sean Yontz does it again-Jessie morreale does the front and Sean is the best chef. We had guacamole, onion soup to die for, tortilla soup, chop salad, tamal with oxtail, sopes with chorizo, quesadilla with huitlacoche, and that was starters-marvelous, perfect, flavors, tastes, the right amount of kick—wow!!! We were not done yet—we had the fish tacos, the molcajete—organic chicken breast baked in a Mexican lava rock, and duck with mole. Too full to move but we made room for decadent cajeta sundae, cajeta crepes and chocolate brownie with hazelnut ice cream. Service is perfect-prices great-and El Diablo has it all.
TV was such fun with some of the street food at A Taste of Colorado. Watch the segment under Gabby TV Appearances—and you will se just a touch of what will be happening over Labor Day at Civic Center Park. Next week we will feature fine dining!!!! And the Culinary Stage this year is gonna be great.
We went to Parallel 17 for dinner-what a treat-we ate on the patio but inside or out, it is great. The wine list is terrific with super prices. We shared duck dumplings and then we had the quail, the curry, the crepe, and the bin may sliders—yum. And dessert was that gorgeous, divine chocolate wrapped in cookie. It is a super place to go.
We went to the bubbly dinner at Strings—a patio bbq with champagne-and what a fun night and combination. The champagnes were great---and so was the dinner. We started with an amuse of crab ceviche and then a heirloom tomato salad. Then came pork belly with slaw, and the winner entrée of fried chicken with corn salad, corn on the cob, and corn fritter with greens and ham hock. It was great-and the dessert was a goat cheese peach tart. A great time was had by all.
REMEMBER NEXT WEEK-=SAT, SEPT. 4, WE ARE AT A TASTE OF COLORADO AND ON AIR FROM 11 AM UNTIL 1.30—SO TUNE IN-AND COME DOWN AND HAVE A BALL AT FINE DINING AND WITH THE GREAT LINEUP ON THE CULINARY STAGE---AND THE PIE CONTEST ON FRIDAY AT 2.30 AND THE HOT DOG EATING CONTESTS SUN. AND MONDAY==AND THE ICE CREAM EATING CONTEST TOO.
THANKS
