As you enter Orchard Wine and Cheese you see a terrific looking walll of wine that features the 45 bottles of wine from which you can choose any combination for flights for tasting. To the right is the dining area with more wines on display while the left side of the restaurant shows off a focal bar and comfortable seating. Behind the bar is a wine shop where you can purchase any of the selections offered in the restaurant. The space has a Tuscan feel, upscale, and elegant, but still casual. Faux gold colored walls, lovely chandeliers and comfortable seating entice visitors to enjoy a special treat. Along with fabulous wine selections (most under $20), the food is outstanding. Start with appetizers that include great bruschetta with lovely cheeses, tomatoes, and toppings. The soups are made here and worth the trip. The choices change daily but some favorites are the spicy yellow vegetable curry, red curry, oyster stew, and butternut squash with fennel. Panini are another treat with super combinations of cheeses and meats grilled just right. The cheese and meat platters star. There are so many combinations---you choose from 25 different cheeses, pates, and then the plates arrive with figs, cioppolini onions, candied walnuts, mustards, jelly, olives, pickles and more. Pick your cheese platter and your flights and enjoy. The flights are $11 and you can choose any wines or bubbly there. Or you can just delight in your favorite. End with chocolate fondue and a dessert wine. It is a great way to spend the evening and try many different combinations. Great service and knowledgeable staff make for a special treat.
