Between Tejon and Zuni

Fun and really good best describe this super spot in the Highlands. You’ll see the open pit with flames as you walk past (or stop to eat in) the patio and enter the restaurant. The first room brings a focal bar and lots of seating, lots of wood and a great scene with TVs for those who want to watch games. The second room follows the same theme with garage windows that open and a bit quieter than the very busy bar dining space. Settle down for fun in either room and enjoy a huge selection of beers, wine, and drinks at very reasonable prices. Start with the best Stranahan’s Barrel smoked chicken wings, a cheese board, whole artichoke, and yummy mac and cheese. Soup or several great salads include arugula and spinach with sundried cranberries, sweet potato, goat cheese and lentil vinaigrette and a H. T.B. chop salad. The signature sandwiches rock: pulled pork, fish & chips in a sandwich, seared ahi, and a great chicken club. Burgers star: choose beef, veggie, lamb, your choice of bun, and toppings, or pick one of the specials. These range from Shroom Luva’s, with mushrooms cheese and truffled aioli, the Tap with root beer pulled pork, onion ring, cheeses, and special sauce to the “chimi” with white cheddar and chimichurri sauce, mother earth, or the Rocky Mtn. With ground lamb, goat cheese, and tomato mint relish. All come with fries. Sides include duck fat fried, zucchini fries, onion rings, apple slaw and salad. There is a great kiddy menu to please the young ones. Service is great, and prices affordable. Highland Tap & Burger is just what the neighborhood needs, and is totally cool and worth the trip from anywhere.
