TASTE & TANGO ARGENTINA

A Benefit for MiCasa Resource Center

Wow Wow Wow!!!!  What a great event! Taste & Tango Argentina was a fantastic evening of fun, great food, dance, and a good cause.
The Warwick Hotel were our gracious hosts and  it was beautifully decked out...thanks to John Tobey Event Design! Our evening started with a wonderful welcome of La Marca Prosecco and passed Hors  D'Oeuvres as we mixed and mingled to the terrific musical sounds of the Amelie Trio. With the silent auction well underway, the 150 guests perused and imbibed in the festive atmosphere.

Dinner was tremendous, but we expected great things from Hosea Rosenberg and were certainly not disappointed!  Our menu and wine pairings from Alamos Winery were sublime and we had wonderful Jimena Turner, Brand Ambassador of Alamos, in from Argentina to explain all the wine selections

Amuse: Ceviche de atun (2010 Torrontes)
First: Shellfish raviolis with leeks and cream (2009 Chardonnay)
Second: Serrano ham, spinach and ricotta empanadas with smoked tomato sauce (2010 Malbec)
Third: Grilled skirt steak with salt roasted potatoes, oyster mushrooms and pine nut-cilantro chimichurri (2010 Cabernet Sauvignon and Alamos 2008 Seleccion (Reserve) Malbec)
Fourth: Calvados-apple spice cake with dulce de leche ice cream

We were treated to wonderful Tango dancing from the dancers at Tango Colorado....WOW can they do that better than me!  One lesson and I was kaput!   Our Emcee for the evening was Luis Canela, of Univision, and he was just wonderful, a big thank you to him! As we were served our courses, we had a chance to hear more about the fantastic things that Mi Casa does from their board president, Benita Duran, and from their CEO Christina Marquez Hudson.  What a great organziation!

Things really got the room in a lather as Rick Rolph, auctioneer, got the live auction underway, a fabulous trip to Argentina and tours of Alamos Winery drew top dollars.  Lots of great  live auction items, silent items and a special donation helped Mi Casa to raise $40,000 to further their mission.

What a fantastic night and lots of fun with old friends and new.  We had such a great time we are already thinking about what we will do next year!  Can't wait!

Special appreciation to all our sponsors contributions, donations, and help.
